Tuesday, 20 September, SHANGHAI (China): It was a frustrating day for the eight teams competing in this week’s UIM H2O BUND Holding Group Nations Cup Grand Prix of Shanghai with strong winds forcing race officials to limit their time out on Dishui Lake.
Following the postponement of this morning’s free practice, the teams were given 30 minutes running under yellow flag conditions to go out and shakedown the boats and familiarise themselves with the four-pin 1800metre circuit.
The team’s first competitive test is tomorrow’s one hour official qualifying session which is due to start at 10.00hrs [local], with Russia’s Andrei Panyushkin the only driver out of those that have competed in previous Nations Cup to have qualified on pole.
Qualifying is followed in the afternoon by the match race with two boats racing off against each other on an alternate track circuit the pairings decided by the drivers’ qualifying times.
The match race and both sprint races of the UIM H2O BUND Holding Group Nations Cup Grand Prix of Shanghai will be broadcast and streamed live on cuph2o.net
