TWO GRAND PRIX FOR UIM H2O NATIONS CUP

Monday 15 April: H2O Racing has confirmed it is planning to hold this year’s two UIM H2O Nations Cup Grand Prix i and will finalise the dates and venues to merge with its busy international racing calendar.

Three countries have underpinned UIM Nations Cup since the launch in 2011 in Singapore with Qatar hosting the event three times from 2013 to 2015. The United Arab Emirates of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi hosted events in 2012 and 2103 with Shanghai the most recent event to be run in 2106.



Over the course of the six years the UAE has proved the most successful team and boasts the most wins with three, Russia with two and Belarus one, with the series delivering several outstanding driver performances; Abu Dhabi’s Ahmed Al Hameli going quickest in qualifying and winning the match race and the sprint race in 2011, Majed Al Mansoori winning the match race and both sprint races in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah in 2012 and Rashed Al Qemzi winning all four races in 2013 in Doha and Abu Dhabi, Italy’s Stefano Paoletti the only driver to win all four elements in Doha in 2014 and Russia’s Roman Vandyshev qualifying in P1 and winning both sprint races in Shanghai in 2016.
